Prosecutor Mohammad Ali suspended

Natun Sokal Report : International Crimes Tribunal prosecutor Mohammad Ali has been suspended on charges of professional misconduct. Law Minister Anisul Huq said that the suspension order was issued on Thursday.

Earlier, on Sunday, Chief Prosecutor Golam Arif Tipu sent a letter to the law ministry to take action against him for allegedly “breaching discipline and code of conduct, and serious professional misconduct”.

It says that Ali has been removed from all war crimes trial investigations including the case of al-Badr leaders Shamsur Rahman and Hossain Tarafder. He will not be able to represent the prosecution in any trial at the tribunal until further notice, added the letter
